To mark the 75th anniversary of the National Health Service (NHS), employees from Telefónica Tech’s specialised IT unit at Addenbrooke’s, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), gathered to celebrate this important milestone.

The National Health Service (NHS) turned 75 on the 5th of July, and people across the UK came together to celebrate this landmark in healthcare history. The team at Addenbrooke’s celebrated the 75th birthday of the NHS  with the arrival of a new surgical robot following a hugely successful £1.5m fundraising campaign by Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.

Ellen Dickson, Strategic Director for Health expressed her pride in celebrating this landmark occasion, “Telefónica Tech is proud to play a small part in helping advance clinical excellence through digitisation. Ensuring the delivery of digital clinical services really can make all the difference to someone’s life and bring them the necessary help in their time of need. Working in healthcare and the NHS brings immense rewards and responsibilities, providing vital assistance to numerous people while operating under significant pressure. We are proud to support the NHS on this special anniversary.”

Telefónica Tech secured a multi-million-pound, seven-year agreement with CUH back in 2018, to take over the management and support of CUH’s IT systems and become the trust’s primary IT infrastructure service and support supplier. With a global reputation for clinical excellence, CUH has pursued a digitalisation agenda in recent years, becoming one of the most technologically advanced trusts in the United Kingdom.
