Telefónica Tech Celebrates International Women's Day 2023
Celebrating the achievements and acts of courage and determination by women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
On Wednesday 8th March, we celebrated women’s achievements and contributions with a series of events and engagements, across Telefonica Tech UK&I.
Mark Gorton our CEO hosted an engaging panel discussion in our London office, alongside Telefónica Tech’s Jacqui Kennedy, Strategic Account Director, Tracy Stanning, Alliance & Partner Director, Corrinna Peters, Senior Data Consultant from Adatis, part of Telefónica Tech and Anne Campbell CEO from Embrace Child Victims of Crime, who shared their personal stories of setbacks and triumphs in the workplace.
This session gave us this opportunity to encourage and inspire one another, by discussing the challenges our women in the workplace have experienced and how they have been overcome.
Corrinna Peters commented on the day, “I walked away feeling empowered and proud. Sometimes being a female in a male dominated industry you can feel like the only one, but it is clear after the panel we are not alone – it was amazing to see everyone come together and share their experiences. I also was impressed by the support and interest of not just females but male colleagues!”
Our colleagues in Belfast office gave captivating insights by storytelling – Get to Know us Better’ Taking this time out to exposure ourselves on a personal level, letting those that don’t know us into a more intimate picture of our lives, breaking down any barriers creates a positive influence.
Telefónica Tech’s Strategic Director for Health, Ellen Dickson reflects on the day:
“We delivered some really clear messages, and for me particularly, as a female representative of our Senior Management Team, champions the paths of our future female leaders, I hope to have inspired some that you can make it in the business, a bit of tenacity, dedication and using the skills that we have naturally will pay a dividend.”
Celebrating International Women’s Day raises awareness in our workplace and by talking openly and learning from each other this has a positive impact for our employees and supports Telefonica Tech’s ambitions to achieving gender equality improvements in our workplace.
We are committed to promoting gender equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and innovation. Through our programs, events, and initiatives, we seek to inspire, connect, and empower women at all levels of our organisation, and to create a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
