Telefónica Tech is proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, a time dedicated to celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and equality. In honor of this significant occasion, we welcomed guest speaker Andreena Leeanne to share her powerful story and insights.

Supporting Pride Month

June marks Pride Month, a global celebration of LGBTQ+ individuals and their contributions. This month is symbolized by the rainbow flag, which first appeared in San Francisco in the 1970s. Each color in the flag represents a different aspect of the LGBTQ+ community, and it continues to be a powerful symbol of diversity and acceptance.

Telefónica Tech proudly supports Pride and has embraced the rainbow theme throughout our UK offices to celebrate and promote inclusivity.

Andreena Leeanne Speaker Event

On June 14th, Telefónica Tech hosted an inspiring virtual session with Andreena Leeanne, an acclaimed author, poet, and diversity advocate. Andreena’s session focused on celebrating diversity, equality, and inclusion, while sharing the challenges she has faced as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

Hosted on Microsoft Teams, this session was accessible to all colleagues, allowing us to collectively engage in the conversation. Andreena shared her experiences of childhood trauma, abuse, and the impact of isolation as a Black LGBTQ+ individual from a working-class background. She also discussed how she has transformed these experiences into positive expressions through her poetry, which is featured in her book, Charred.
