Telefónica Tech has been recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s Corporate Community Champions in the prestigious Belfast Telegraph Business Awards. The company has been shortlisted from a record number of entries in the Corporate Community Champion category alongside companies such as Henderson Group, Lidl and Encirc.

The Belfast Telegraph Business Awards, in partnership with Ulster Bank, are the leading business awards in Northern Ireland and more than 250 companies entered this year.

Telefónica Tech is no stranger to success in the scheme, having won the Outstanding Commitment to ESG category in 2025.

This year’s entry into the Corporate Community Champion category focuses on the company’s partnership with Impact Training and Queen’s University Belfast to support a Computer Coding Course designed to build software skills for young people in priority groups.

To date, 31 young people have completed the programme, with a further 20 graduating this year – 51 individuals in total from the priority group.

Impact Training has described the programme as transformative, giving them the “drive and enthusiasm” to expand their work to reach even younger students. Seventeen pupils have now completed a sister programme delivered at a local school.

Ellen Dickson, VP of Enterprise Health at Telefónica Tech said: “This project aligns fully with our strategic direction, bringing together colleagues from marketing, people teams, delivery functions, and senior leadership, strengthening our culture, and helping us win business. The important part though is seeing a candidate grow from someone who could hardly say a word to confidently speaking on camera about their journey and then returning the next year as a peer mentor. We are so proud of what we have been able to achieve together with our partners in the progeamme.”

The winners of the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards will be announced on 25th March at the Crowne Plaza Belfast.
