  • Self-Service Analytics: Genie AI enables users to query enterprise data directly, supporting questions beyond the scope of traditional dashboards and reports.
  • Customisable Genie Spaces: Domain experts configure Genie spaces with datasets, sample queries, and guidelines, making it easy for business users to explore operational and financial data.
  • Continuous Learning: Genie AI incorporates user feedback to refine its responses and semantic knowledge over time.
  • Integration with Unity Catalog: Genie spaces are built on data registered to Unity Catalog, ensuring secure, governed access to managed tables, views, and more.
  • File Uploads: Users can blend local CSV and Excel files with Unity Catalog data for deeper analysis (currently in Public Preview).

 

How Genie AI Works:

Genie uses a compound AI system which consists of multiple interacting components rather than a single large language model to interpret business questions and generate answers. It selects relevant names and descriptions from annotated tables and columns, converts natural language questions to SQL queries, and responds with results. If Genie can’t generate an answer, it can ask follow-up questions for clarification.
