Keeping IT networks and data secure is critical to our customers. The need for readily accessible, resilient infrastructure solutions together with mobile access has led to a rise in the adoption of cloud computing. Although it has opened up many new opportunities, cloud computing also present new security risks to the information of organisations. Through the implementation of CSA STAR Certification, we demonstrate that we have a full understanding of the risks involved and the business impact. This allows us to put controls in place to protect business critical information for our customers.
The Cyber Essentials scheme has been developed by the UK Government and industry to fulfil two functions.
It provides a clear statement of the basic controls all organisations should implement to mitigate the risk from common internet based threats (Implementation)
Through the Assurance Framework it offers a mechanism for organisations to demonstrate to customers, investors, insurers and others that they have taken these essential precautions (Certification).
The Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) replaced the N3 national private network in 2017. Instead, HSCN will provide a reliable, efficient and flexible way for health and care organisations to access and exchange electronic information.
CANCOM have been liaising with the N3 Authority NHS Digital, since early 2016, to ensure a completely seamless transition for our N3 connected customers from N3 to HSCN. We have received the HSCN Compliance Board’s approval for Stage 2 compliance.
Rather than choosing Cyber Essentials alone, CANCOM opted to go one step further by complying with Cyber Essentials + the IASME including General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Governance Standard. IASME are one of a small number of companies appointed as Accreditation Bodies for assessing and certifying against the Governments Cyber Essentials Scheme. The IASME Governance Standard is based on international information security best practice.
