Webinar Overview
The Prime Minister’s recent announcement on turbocharging medical research presents several challenges for local healthcare organisations. These include the need for faster and more secure access to NHS data for researchers, and the government’s aim to fast-track clinical trials by reducing bureaucracy and standardising contracts across NHS organisations. This will require local healthcare organisations to adapt to new data access protocols and streamline their processes.
Additionally, the UK government has announced a £600 million investment to establish a new Health Data Research Service (HDRS) in partnership with the Welcome Trust. This service will build on the work of NHS Secure Data Environment network (SDEs), such as the Wessex SDE, to reduce barriers for researchers, accelerate clinical trial setup times, and improve disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The SDE program has successfully integrated fragmented healthcare data, providing a unified platform for clinical operations and research.
NHS organisations need to manage multiple data requests and pipelines – new services such as the Federated Data Platform (FDP), Single Patient Record need to sit alongside patient portals, the NHS App and other regional services such as shared care records.
This webinar, hosted by Telefónica Tech in partnership with Starlight Consulting, aims to equip local healthcare organisations and NHS Trusts with the tools and strategies needed to become more self-efficient and navigate the upcoming changes to data across the NHS in England. Attendees will gain insights into modernisation trends, self-sufficiency strategies, and practical steps to adapt to new regulations and policies.
