Enhancing Healthcare Data Integration and Research

It was great to connect with you at the NHS Hospitals Interoperability Summit on Wednesday 26th February. In case you missed our talk in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals here are a few highlights:

Telefónica Tech UK&I were joined by Oxford University Hospitals to delve into the strategic implementation and operational insights from the development of the Secure Data Environment (SDE) and Trusted Research Environment (TRE) for the Thames Valley and Surrey region. This programme, to build an environment for 1 of the 11 sub-national major SDE’s, initiated in April 2024, aims to enhance the security, accessibility, and utility of healthcare data, supporting NHS England’s initiatives.

The session focused on the importance of the Trusted Research Environment (TRE) for researchers, the challenges of managing large datasets, and the innovative solutions for handling patient data and images. Attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the technical and operational aspects of the SDE, as well as the future directions for improving data integration and research capabilities in the healthcare sector.

SDE / TRE Framework Support
