‘Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations’ is changing its name to ‘Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations‘
Microsoft does love a name change. In this case from ‘Dynamics AX’ to ‘Dynamics 365 for Operations’ to ‘Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations’ (not forgetting ‘Axapta’). In the latest name change Microsoft brings together all the back-office systems into one platform with enhanced financial capability. This update will make things easier and add more functionality for users.
The update comes with the usual range of small enhancements with a particular focus on financial management. Microsoft has now started using the new name but won’t be updating everything immediately so you may still see the ‘Dynamics 365 for Operations’ name used for some time to come.
Overall this is part of the wider repackaging of the Dynamics 365 range. You can now also access Talent, (Microsoft’s new HR system) either as part of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations or as a stand-alone system.
How to access
The update is available immediately and can be accessed and deployed through Azure Active Directory. Local business version customers will need to log in to LCS to deploy the product.
